Almost 2.6 billion people worldwide use unsafe toilets or defecate in the open. Lack of adequate sanitation causes severe diarrhoea, which kills 1.8 million people each year, and is also a major threat to the environment. Learn more...
Our solution is the Blue Diversion Toilet: a breakthrough sanitation system that is environmentally friendly with strong financial and social benefits. The toilet has been developed by Eawag and designed by EOOS as part of  the "Reinvent the Toilet Challenge" funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Project Development & State of the Art
The Blue Diversion toilet exists on prototype level, it is not market ready yet. We are currently seeking for industrial partners for manufacturing. By the same time we are working on a next generation toilet where even feces and urine are treated in the toilet. More information on the AUTARKY project can be found on www.autarky.ch
